Paranormal Portal UK is an independent research platform focused on the careful examination of unexplained phenomena. Our aim is not to promote belief or disbelief, but to investigate claims with clarity, balance, and intellectual honesty.

The paranormal field is often shaped by sensationalism, assumption, and unchallenged narratives. Paranormal Portal UK exists to take a different approach — one that prioritises evidence, context, and critical thinking. Each case is examined on its own merits, with consideration given to environmental factors, historical background, witness testimony, and alternative explanations. Our work includes active investigations, structured case documentation derived from podcast research, analytical articles, and contextual reporting. Where explanations can be reasonably identified, they are explored openly. Where questions remain, they are documented without exaggeration or speculation.

Paranormal Portal UK does not exist to convince, validate, or dismiss experiences. It exists to record, examine, and understand them — creating a growing archive of investigations, case reports, and research that allows readers and listeners to form their own conclusions. This is not a platform driven by belief. It is a platform driven by inquiry.

We've known each other for over 25 years and worked together for several of them. Over time, long conversations about the unexplained (consciousness, UFOs, hauntings) turned into a shared urge to search for answers, and we began swapping our own experiences. That became South Coast Paranormal UK, a website and investigation platform. Along the way we started sharing classic cases as a podcast, the Portal Files, under the name Paranormal Portal UK. The podcast outgrew the website and became the brand. Today it's a website, a podcast and a YouTube channel covering old and new cases, listener stories and our audio drama Tales from the Shadows, with guest interviews to come.

 

When we investigate, we start with the ordinary explanations: noises, drafts, electrics, air quality, and how a building behaves at night. Only once those have been looked at properly do we look for patterns. We prefer to work with the lights on, because the dark does half the haunting's work for it.
